WWHR is a system that uses residual heat from shower wastewater to preheat the incoming cold main that refills the system. As a result, less energy is used to heat the mains water to the desired temperatures.
A fairly simple device, it has no electrical components, no pumps or controllers, and so requires very little maintenance. It has an expected lifespan of around 20 years.
